And it drives me nuts that both the Tumblr iPhone and web apps are so adamant about not letting me post an embed-based video from my phone; each limply suggests I email a video to my secret address—but, to my knowledge that ain’t gonna help me with a YouTube or Vimeo post. Although there’s almost certainly a more elegant way to get around this, my hack is to always leave up 2 or 3 desktop-browser-created video posts as “drafts.” They’re empty as posted, but then I can just paste in the embed code (or just the URL in the case of sites like YT), and off I go. And, yeah, please let me know if there’s an easier way. My life is a model of efficacious inelegance.
