The Maestro says he hates your blog’s endless surfeit of “Top n” and “n Ways” lists. He says it makes you look lazy as a writer and desperate as a publisher — especially when, as is often the case, they’re just a bunch of un-annotated links to things other people have written.
He says that, over time, site traffic should emerge organically out of the quality of your work and the originality of your voice. He says that shortcuts should be used in moderation, unless you want to develop a reputation as a hack and a douchebag.
Personally? I don’t care too much for your lists either. But, The Maestro? Wow. He really doesn’t seem to like them at all. He’s kind of having a fit, actually.
