kottke.org is ten years old today
I admired, stole from, and essentially stalked Jason Kottke for many years before I met him and eventually came to count him as a bona fide internet pal.
Jason’s knack for gathering and stylishly telling interesting stories using personal publishing has known few peers. In fact, caring that much about every word you post has become unfashionable to the point of seeming nostalgic, but Jason still teaspoons the stuff with an editorial elan that keeps hacks like me on the ball and aspiring to one day bring the goods in the style he now has for ten (10) years.
In an ideal world, Jason’s eye for what’s a good story (and what’s not) and understanding the most elegant way to tell it would inspire every person with access to a “Publish” button. Here’s hoping.
Rock on, Jason.
