Your suggestions for video hosts
Twitter / Merlin Mann: LazyTwitter: Flip en route …
I just ordered a Flip for doing casual video stuff and was thinking of trying a new video host. I LazyWebbed to the Twitter for advice, and here’s what you guys said.
- Remy - Vimeo gets my vote.
- jmorrisseyd Vimeo rocks so much I would give them my firstborn child
- mixmanner I’m a Vimeo fan. It’s like Twitter or Tumblr; simple, yet functional.
- bradleyallen Vimeo seems to be buddy bands with Tumblr. They share the same recording studio and groupies. Vimeo
- royalbacon Vimeo has great tumblr integration.
- kennbell blip and Viddler are top notch but Vimeo has the best encoding and a beautiful barely there player.
- mrwarren Big fan of Vimeo myself.
- luomat Vimeo seems to be preferred site for Tumblr.com
- jonathandavies Vimeo is great if you want to upload HD - the player is also nice.
- RyanMF Great quality on Vimeo… Not sure if there are any other major selling points, but that’s a pretty good one.
- RellyAB - Vimeo rocks my world.
- jbb Viddler
- masto Late vote for Viddler. It’s all about the community. We open our kimonos, etc.
- djsteen: I say Viddler for sure! Tag/Comment on the timeline, awesome community, and a great team of people that work there!
- xxabsentxx We use Viddler. Good stuff.
- Jestutripup Viddler
Split/Other
- houltmac Vimeo is a nicer player, but Viddler has good add/tag support
-
greggscott Vimeo’s quality is sub-par. Blogger interestingly converts much better but no embed code perse. ‘Tis a great query you pose.
I’ll keep reading responses (or links to good comparisons of these services), so hop in.
