A part of me wishes that indie bands would try this hard to say whatever the fuck Chris De Burgh was trying to say in this video.
Remember, Prof. Brooklyn McSweaterVest: you don’t need to understand exactly what you’re trying to say in order to make interesting work, y’know? Especially if you have candles, skulls, hobo fires, fangs, jazz hands, horses, tail coats, fog machines, pantomime moments, cravats, mullets, ghostly brides, cool ships’ wheels, and ubiquitous people in cloaks. The rest writes itself.
And would it kill you add a creepy flute on the bridge? Worked for De Burgh.
