“Standing Desk”

Oh sure. I could have spent $1,000, $2,000, $8,000 or even $60,000 on my Rumsfeldian new project.

Heck, I even could have talked about the topic a lot then researched and followed some tutorial.

Instead, I gave the nice people at Costco US$99 and, in return, they gave me this awesome piece of rolling plastic that I can type on and store shit on and that I couldn’t destroy in a million years if I tried.

Candidly? I already feel like enough of a twat trying to write standing up; if I knew I was typing on top of an authentic cherry-wood reproduction of the handsome desk some founding father repeatedly fucked his scullery maid on, I’d also feel like a pretentious twat. And, I don’t need that kind of aggravation.

I do really like that this thing was built for rugged—if completely different—work. That’s what writing is supposed to be, right? Hard work.

So, maybe, at least in some small way, this stupid thing will help remind me that finishing shit means first getting off your ass and then working really hard until you know you’ve earned your keep.

Or, who knows, maybe, I’ll just break down and start detailing some douchebag’s BMW.
