1. Oh, Open Source

Weighing in at an imposing 1.3 gigabytes, MacTeX will (once installed) give me numerous options regarding the ability to (are you holding on to your hat?) generate formatted text files.1

b. yes, I understand that this is very powerful functionality and that creating a complex program that runs on AIX, FreeBSD, HP-UX, IRIX, Linux, Mac OS X, OpenBSD, Solaris, and Windows is a marvel of community effort that I should not be sarcastic about, and
c. yes, I realize that the real bloatware is happening amongst all the “commercial” “software” “companies” whose greed, lax security, and FUD have energized an international network of like-minded individuals to collaborate on better and more open software solutions that drive innovation and keep technology under the control of the user, rather than consolidated in the blood-stained hands of a faceless and irresponsible corporation, and
d. yes, the lady who played “Seven of Nine” on that TV show seems like a very handsome woman whom I’m sure was being really sincere that time last year when you met her at “MASTURBACON 09” out at the airport Hyatt, when you paid her US$15 to autograph an 8x10 glossy with the inscription, “To Karl— With Love, The Lady who Played the Sexy Robot on that TV Show. XXOO MWAH!”
