    Years before I understood what sexual intercourse was, I knew I wanted to do something exotic, embarrassing, and probably unspeakable to Debbie Harry.

    That whatever z-list moves I might cobble together would completely disgust her—that my awkward circus of grapplings, nuzzles, and ad hoc frottage would almost certainly make her do that delirious thing with her upper lip—just made the fantasy that much more intoxicating.

    She was my canonical boner machine.
