“The Truth is in the Cloud”
Is that right? Awesome. Well, so’s my fucking Bruce Springsteen album.
Hey, could The Truth maybe toss my fucking Bruce Springsteen album down to my iPhone when it gets a sec?
TIA.
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band- “Prove It All Night” (Live, 1978)
Easy to forget: the man’s a burning guitar player, too
Baby just one kiss will get these things for you,
A kiss to seal our fate tonight,
A kiss to prove it all night.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - “Because The Night” (Passaic, NJ; Sep. 19, 1978)
Another one from Passaic Night.
Definitive.

Passaic Night is “out there,” and I can really recommend snagging a copy.
There’s a reason a lot of people think it’s the single best Springsteen show.
Dunno enough to lend any credence to that, but, shit are there ever 5 or 6 classics I’ve never heard sound better than they did in September of 1978.
Darkness on the Edge of Menarche
Like every super-fan, I’ve waited years to hear the unreleased tracks from The Boss’s album about being a Photoshopped 11-year-old-girl.
Wait. What now?

Bruce Springsteen - “Girls in Their Summer Clothes”
What a great pop song. I’d be surprised if he hadn’t been listening to some early Magnetic Fields.
Bruce Springsteen - “Thunder Road” (Live, 1975)
At Hammersmith Odeon, London ‘75.
The last verse of this song — particularly in this performance — has become one of my favorite things ever.
There were ghosts in the eyes
Of all the boys you sent away.
They haunt this dusty beach road In the skeleton frames of burned-out Chevrolets.
They scream your name at night in the street!
Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet.
And, in the lonely cool before dawn,
From your room, you hear their engines roar on.
But, when you get to the porch, they’re gone on the wind. So, Mary climb in.
It’s a town full of losers, And I’m pulling outta here to win.
