  1. Evil patch? X-rays? Dark mass? But sweet Jesus in heaven. WHERE THE FUCK IS THE CENTRAL LOBE?

Screw the ‘dark patch’ these evil-doers have grown another lobe. The man has discovered mutant three-lobe killer rapists.

  2. Getting Hosed: An Examination of Petty Theft in the Car Wash Industry

Go ahead and put me down for one “I told you so” when this turns out to be an utterly bullshit study.

Heard a story about this on Morning Edition and screamed myself hoarse over the study’s farcical ““design.””

    Just appalling.

  4. So, instead, here is a recipe for writing a hit popular brain book. You start each chapter with a pat anecdote about an individual’s professional or entrepreneurial success, or narrow escape from peril. You then mine the neuroscientific research for an apparently relevant specific result and narrate the experiment, perhaps interviewing the scientist involved and describing his hair. You then climax in a fit of premature extrapolation, inferring from the scientific result a calming bromide about what it is to function optimally as a modern human being. Voilà, a laboratory-sanctioned Big Idea in digestible narrative form.

    Turns. Out.

Big fan of Roderick On The Line (a podcast of Merlin Mann and John Roderick’s telephone conversations), so I decided to make a half-toned, photocopier-friendly poster for it (not unlike the gig posters that were all too common around Cardiff when I was a younger man). Here’s the full size version. It’s real big.

How Jonah Lehrer Recycled His Own Material for Imagine

God damn.

If this is accurate, it’s some 100%-old-school-bananas-holy-fucking-shit-level stuff.
